Forevermore March was written for the retirement of the composer's high school band director- Mr. Masemann. An expert in the American march tradition, it was only fitting to write a march for him that built upon those ideals. Most of the piece is original and hints at various marches from the canon, except for the the theme at the Trio. It is a favorite hymn of Mr. Masemann’s, “Beautiful Savior,” and works perfectly in that position. The first time we hear the hymn, it is played by a solo trumpet, Mr. Masemann’s instrument.
